Xavier E. Sztejnberg
Xavier Sztejnberg is the Director of WSFM and a Lecturer in the Department of Finance where he teaches a graduate-level advanced corporate finance course focused on business valuation.
Mr. Sztejnberg’s professional experience began on Wall Street where he was an investment banker focused primarily on mergers & acquisitions with firms such as Lazard Frères & Co., Morgan Stanley & Co. and The Blackstone Group. His areas of expertise have been in the technology and consumer sectors as well as in complex cross-border transactions. He advised global corporations such as Siemens, Texas Instruments, IBM, Alcatel, Invensys, Nestlé, Molson Coors, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola and Carl Zeiss on over 40 transactions representing close to $80 billion in aggregate value. He was also a strategy consultant in New York with McKinsey & Company.
Prior to joining the McCombs School of Business, Mr. Sztejnberg was an executive in Corporate Development with Dell Inc. based in Round Rock, Texas. Mr. Sztejnberg led acquisitions, divestitures and investments for the company’s IT Services and End-User-Computing business units. He also led a team focused on M&A integration.
Mr. Sztejnberg graduated with an MBA with distinction in Finance and Accounting and a BS in Economics from both from The Wharton School of Finance as well as a BS in Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania.
